SURPRISE, Ariz. – Making history: No. 9 Academy of Art advances to the quarterfinals after running the table against No. 35 Concordia (N.Y.) on Tuesday afternoon. The Urban Knights defeated the Clippers 5-0.

It all got started against with near, perfect scores in doubles: Junior twins and No. 9-ranked
Alma Thell-Lenntorp and
Klara Thell-Lenntorp won first doubles 8-2. Meanwhile, junior
Taisiia Andrieieva and sophomore
Mariacristina Andrisani only surrendered one game as they took the match 8-1. Finally, the Urban Knights took a commanding, 3-0 lead when juniors
Paula Alcantara and
Monika Stanikova won 8-2 in the third position.

ART U flew through the singles portion of the match as well. In fact, in their two singles wins needed to win the match, the Urban Knights only allowed their opponent to win one game out of four sets. Alcantara finished her match first, sweeping the Clippers' Franziska Putschbach with a flawless, 6-0, 6-0 score. A. Thell-Lennorp sealed the deal in the fifth position, nailing down a 6-1, 6-0 score.

A big test comes ART U's way in quarterfinals as they will face the No. 1-ranked and No. 1-seeded Barry Buccaneers who defeated No. 12 Drury in the Round of 16. The Urban Knights faced the Bucs
earlier this season in Melbourne, Fla. And they fell by the score of 8-1. However, a month and a half removed from that contest, Academy of Art will look to come away victorious in Wednesday's NCAA DII National Championship Quarterfinals.
