PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 19)
  IRVINE, Calif. -- Senior and No. 7 ranked Monika Stanikova claims title of PacWest Player of the Week after taking down No. 15 Jensyn Warren and dominating 6-1 in doubles to lead No. 6 Academy of Art women's tennis to a 5-2 win over Sonoma State.

"Very happy for Monika that she received this award," said head coach Clarisse Baca. "It is only the beginning for her."

It was a battle of the top two ranked players in the West Region and after losing the first set and being down 1-4 in the second set Stanikova rallied back to win two straight sets and take the match. Stanikova's double match with partner Paula Alcantara was never in question, as they took down Jenna DeTurk and Clarisa Colling by the largest margin of the day.
