PacWest Conference Weekly Awards Sept. 16
IRVINE, Calif. – For the second consecutive week, senior forward
Anissa Wilson is PacWest Player of the Week. Wilson continued her incredible scoring streak by collecting seven points on three goals and her first assist of the year. She has now scored in all four matches this year and has scored two goals in three of four games.Â
The Music Production major started her week with a goal in the 67th minute against SF State on
Sept. 11, on a free kick from outside the penalty box she wedged between the Gator goalkeeper and the near post. Two days later against Mills on
Sept. 13, the senior forward secured her third brace of the year.
Wilson's second goal of the day was a cross she headed in for her seventh goal of the season which tied the ART U single-season goals record set by Marg Thorolfsdottir in 2011. She also sits just one point back from tying the single-season points record set by Beth Barker in 2012.Not only does Wilson lead the PacWest in points by nine and goals by five, she is also third in the entire NCAA Division II in goals scored.
