2019-20 United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In Thursday's release of the 2019-20 College Team Academic Awards by the United Soccer Coaches Association, Academy of Art women's soccer collected its seventh honor to date and second in the past two seasons as one of the country's 556 women's soccer programs recognized.
"I was very excited when we heard the news, and we could not be more proud as a program," said head coach
Chris King. "We're setting the bar higher and higher both on the soccer field and in the classroom and this incredible group of people continues to meet and exceed each challenge in front of us."
With a 3.37 cumulative grade point average (GPA), ART U was one of six women's soccer programs in the PacWest to receive the Team Academic Award. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible.
The team recognition comes after 16 Urban Knights were selected for
Academic All-PacWest including six who earned
D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards.
