PacWest Weekly Awards (Oct. 18)

IRVINE, Calif. – Finishing in the upper tier of a Bronco Invitational race that featured 104 NCAA Division I runners this past weekend, junior Saba Khvichava was distinguished as the Pacific West Conference Runner of the Week. The award is for races contested from Oct. 11-17.

Khvichava was the Urban Knights' top runner for the fourth consecutive meet on Oct. 16, completing the 8k Baylands Park course in a time of 24:36.9. His fastest mark this season by six seconds, the time was also sixth in program history. He was just one tenth of a second back of Stanford's second finisher and took 36th overall (33rd toward team scoring).

This is the first PacWest weekly honor for Academy of Art cross country this season as well as the first in Khvichava's career.
