PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Apr. 12)
IRVINE, Calif. – Composing

Lauryn Henderson and freshman infielder
Haley Randall were named Pacific West Conference Player and Freshman of the Week respectively after combining to drive in 19 runs across the Urban Knights' 5-1 week. The awards are for games played from Apr. 5-11.
Henderson initially went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in and the second triple of her career during the second game against Northwest Nazarene on
Apr. 7. The Game Development major followed that up by driving in three yet again on
Apr. 9 versus HNU and before going 3-for-4 with her fourth homer of the year plus two doubles and three runs scored. She added a 2-for-3 effort with another RBI, another double, and two runs scored in game two. Henderson then closed the week on
Apr. 10 by tying the program's single-game record set by
Alana Aweau on
Apr. 6, 2011 with four walks to go with one RBI and one run scored in the third game of the series then ended 1-for-2 with her ninth RBI of the week and two runs scored in the finale.
For the week, Henderson hit .571 (8-for-14) with nine RBIs, one homer, one triple, three doubles, and 10 runs scored. After pushing her reached base streak to 16 games, she now ranks second in the PacWest in batting average (.451) and home runs (4), third in runs scored (17), and fourth in doubles (7) and RBIs (18).
Coming into the week having hit safely in seven games, Randall started by going 1-for-3 in both contests versus NNU on
Apr. 7, driving in one run in the first and two in the second. She then had a career-high four hits in five at-bats to start the Urban Knights' series with HNU on
Apr. 9, homering and doubling all while driving in three and scoring twice. The Art Education major finished the day by going 1-for-4 with another run batted in and a run scored in game two. On the final day of the series (
Apr. 10), Randall turned in a 1-for-3 performance with two RBIs and one run scored in the first contest then closed the week by going 1-for-1 with another RBI and one run scored.
For the week, Randall batted .474 (9-for-19) with 10 RBIs, one homers, one double, one stolen base, and six runs scored. Now the owner of a 13-game hitting streak, she ranks for second in the conference in home runs (4), third in batting average (.426) and RBIs (20).
This is the third PacWest weekly honor for Henderson in her career and the second for Randall after the duo was honored on
Mar. 29.
