KNIGHT WATCH

Scoring her second goal of the season in the
2-1 defeat against Holy Names was redshirt sophomore forward
Hannah Moore, as she was the recipient of a pass to the top of the box by sophomore defender
Halldóra Einarsdóttir after Einarsdóttir generated a defensive take away from my goal kick. Moore's strike into the top of the net joins her unassisted tally back in the
match with UC Santa Cruz as the first two markers of her ART U career, ties her for sixth in the conference in goals, and also gave Einarsdóttir the first point in her collegiate career.
Freshman goalkeeper
Alicia Calderon has stood out in goal for ART U this season, as the Long Beach, Calif. native is coming off the best match of her career where she made 15 total saves against Azusa Pacific the previous time on the pitch. Not only was that mark a new season best, but it ranks as
second-most in ART U single-game history, trailing only the 19 by Rachael Rempe against
Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 26, 2012. Additionally, it was
the most saves in a single game by a PacWest goalkeeper this season, as she holds the top three spots of that list and is the only goalkeeper in the PacWest to make double-digit saves in a match (three times). For the campaign Calderon now has a total of 94 saves across 1,080 minutes played, which is
already the sixth-most in a single ART U season. Her streak of making at least five saves per game lives on, as she has done so in all of her first 12 collegiate matches for an average of 7.83 saves per match.
OUSTING THE OAKLANDERS
Lincoln University enters the match up with a 1-4-1 record, though they are unbeaten in their previous two matchups thanks to a 4-0 win over Cal Maritime and a 1-1 draw with CalTech. Leading the team in points is Camil Wilson, as she has scored two of the six Oaklanders' goals this season, while Brianne Morris trails shortly behind with three points thanks to a goal and an assist. This will be the first ever meeting between Academy of Art and Lincoln University.
SWEATING OUT THE PENGUINS
It has been a rough stretch for the Dominican Penguins, going 0-4-2 in their previous six matches to snap what was a two-match winning streak against Cal State East Bay and Holy Names. Along with the results, Dominican has one of the bottom offenses in the PacWest table, scoring the second-fewest amount of goals on the year with eight on a total of 98 shots. Despite the low total, they have put over half of their attempts on goal (53; 54.1 percent). Alison McNeil leads the team in points with five, netting a pair of goals along with an assist, while seven other Penguins have recorded at least one point. Angelina Hert has spent the most time in goal for Dominican, making 42 saves on 109 shots faced for hey save percentage of .750. Claiming victory in each of the past three head-to-head matchups has been the Penguins, and they lead Academy of Art in the all-time series, 11-6-3.
CALDERON SETS SEASON HIGH IN ART U DEFEAT BY AZUSA PACIFIC
Freshman goalkeeper
Alicia Calderon was called upon often for Academy of Art women's soccer during its match with Azusa Pacific on Saturday, making a total of 15 saves on the day to set a new season best. Unfortunately it was not enough for ART U, as APU scored five times in the first half before capturing a 6-0 Pacific West Conference victory.
LOOKING AHEAD
After spending the previous four matches at home, Academy of Art starts the final stretch of its 2022 campaign when it hits the road for a pair of PacWest clashes with Holy Names and Fresno Pacific beginning on Sunday, Oct. 23.
