KNIGHT WATCH
Raquel Calvo Mendez 10-3-22Scoring her second goal of the season in the 2-1 defeat against Holy Names was redshirt sophomore forward Hannah Moore, as she was the recipient of a pass to the top of the box by sophomore defender Halldóra Einarsdóttir after Einarsdóttir generated a defensive take away from my goal kick. Moore's strike into the top of the net joins her unassisted tally back in the match with UC Santa Cruz as the first two markers of her ART U career, ties her for sixth in the conference in goals, and also gave Einarsdóttir the first point in her collegiate career.

Defensively, freshman goalkeeper Alicia Calderon has produced a total of 74 saves on 265 shots faced in the first 10 matches of her collegiate career, making at least five saves per game in every contest (7.40 per match) across her 900 minutes between the pipes. Not only are both of those totals first in the PacWest, the 74 saves are also ninth most in a single season in program history. Thus far her best performance came on Sept. 11 when she made double-digit saves for the first time this season with a total of 11 against the Gators.

BESTING BIOLA
Down near the bottom of the PacWest table are the Eagles of Biola, as BU has lost each of its previous five matches including a recent 2-0 defeat at the hands of Fresno Pacific to begin conference play. Biola has scored just six goals on the year, doing so on an average of 10.1 shots per game (81 total; 40 on net). A pair of Eagles each have a team leading to goals and one assist for five points in Peyton Nelson and Marije Rechin, while Abby Chavez trails not far behind with one goal in to assist of her own (four points). Time has been split between the pipes for the Eagles, but they are goalkeepers who have combined for 32 saves on 102 shots faced while allowing 17 goals. There has only been five meetings between Academy of Art and Biola in the all-time matchup, with the Eagles coming out on the winning side in all five.

COUGARS WITH CLAWS
Entering the match up with Academy of Art after going 1-1-1 past three matches are the Cougars of Azusa Pacific, though most recently APU opened PacWest action with a scoreless tie against Concordia. The 10.9 shots per game that Azusa Pacific has led to a total of seven goals on the year, and 40 of their 87 shots have made it on target (46.0 percent). Seven different Cougars have found their way onto the score sheet, led by Bethany Tee with three goals and one assist for seven points. Maddie Williams has spent all of the time between the pipes, and she has a goals against average of just 0.88 while making a total of 32 saves on 62 shots faced. In the all-time series between Academy of Art and Azusa Pacific, the Cougars hold the edge 7-1-1.

BIG FIRST HALF LEADS VULCANS OVER URBAN KNIGHTS
Battling the seventh ranked team in all of NCAA Division II in No. 7 UH Hilo, Academy of Art women's soccer could not contain the surging Vulcan offense after they started the scoring in the seventh minute, as ART U finished its Hawaii roadtrip with a 7-0 defeat in Pacific West Conference play on Saturday.

LOOKING AHEAD
Academy of Art will take a quick pause from PacWest play when they battle Lincoln University from Paul Goode Field on Wednesday, Oct. 12, but will close the week in conference action against Dominican on Sunday, Oct. 16 against Dominican from CCSF.
