Academy of Art T&F/XC Welcomes Vaughn Lacour To Team

Vaughn LacourSAN FRANCISCO – Building for the approaching cross country and track & field campaigns, Academy of Art Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Kevin LaSure and his staff have announced Vaughn Lacour (San Diego/Rancho Bernardo High School) will join ART U this fall.

"I coached Vaughn during youth track and I look forward to working with him again," said Cross Country Head Coach and Track & Field Assistant Coach Bruce Jackson. "He will add more speed to our middle-distance group."

Leading up to his graduation from Rancho Bernardo High School in 2022, Lacour competed on the varsity cross country team for two years and the varsity track & field team for three years. In both the 400m and 800m, he improved every season with his top marks settling at 49.72 and 1:55.38 in 2022. His personal record in the 800m put him third at the CIF San Diego Section Finals and he added his best 1600m of 4:30.47 roughly one month prior.

As he works toward becoming a concept artist and character designer, Lacour will begin his collegiate career in the Academy of Art School of Visual Development when school starts in September.
