2023 Lewis Crossover Invitational Results
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – In a 6k race that featured well over 300 runners from more than 30 schools, Academy of Art women's cross country finished Saturday morning's Lewis Crossover Invitational in 27th paced by junior
Grace Southern in the upper tier.
A grand total of 318 runners toed the line on a brisk day in Illinois and Southern would best more than 270 of her competitors, placing 45th (44 points toward team score) with a time of 22:19.2. Redshirt sophomore
Katharina Goetschl followed at 22:47.8 in 78th (74 points toward team score) while junior
Lina Hanich's 24:14.1 mark in the 210th spot (172 points toward team score), junior
Michaela Andrews in 268th (204 points toward team score) at 25:33.7, and sophomore
María Martín's 26:32.5 had her 297th (214 points toward team score) to round out the five qualifiers for ART U.
Academy of Art (708) collectively placed 27th ahead of Northwood (723), Tiffin (845), Trevecca Nazarene (850), and others. Though the race was dominated by Winona State's Lindsey Cunningham (20:06.8), the top team finish went to Colorado School of Mines (49) with all five finishers among the top 12.
Next up for ART U women's cross country will be the Pacific West Conference Championship race at 9 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
