Morgan Day Rejoins Academy of Art Women’s Soccer In 2023

Morgan DaySAN FRANCISCO – Returning to the Academy of Art women's soccer program, midfielder/forward Morgan Day (Half Moon Bay, Calif./Half Moon Bay HS) has been announced as the ninth Urban Knight to join ART U ahead of its 2023 campaign.

Originally a member of the Urban Knights' 2019 squad, Day debuted during the 2020-21 COVID-19 shortened season, appearing in all six matches prior to becoming part of the women's soccer team at Saint Peter's in 2022. Day recorded a shot in all but one match as an Urban Knight, making four starts while totaling 458 minutes played.

"I chose the Academy of Art University for its exceptional graphic design program and competitive athletics," Day said. "I'm thrilled and deeply grateful for the chance to return to ART U to pursue my master's degree and continue my athletic journey!"

Prior to her graduation from Half Moon Bay High School, Day played three years of varsity soccer, earning All-League First Team and the team's Most Valuable Player honor twice. A league co-champion in 2019, the Midfielder of the Year capped her senior year by scoring a hat trick in her final high school match. Also a member of the Puerto Rican National Team, Day has competed for multiple clubs in Burlingame U.S. Academy and Juventus.

"What excites me the most is the opportunity to reunite with some of my closest friends on the soccer field and immerse myself in a dynamic community filled with incredibly talented artists once again," Day said.

Reentering the School of Graphic Design, Day will continue toward her goal of playing soccer professionally and working in the creative industry as a graphic designer as part of an incoming recruiting class that includes Jade Alverio, Kayla Hampton, Jorryn EcheverriaBreanna BernardsonValeria Perez RiveraAshley TasevAlanna Del Carlo, and Mackenzie Dowd.
