PacWest Weekly Awards (Sept. 17)

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Academy of Art women's cross country senior Grace Southern delivered another strong performance to start 2024 as she placed fourth of 77 runners in the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational on Sept. 14, prompting her to earn the honor of Pacific West Conference Runner of the Week. The award is for meets held from Sept. 9-15.

The 6k race through River Oaks Golf Course had Southern in the front pack throughout as she battled with Chico State's Della and Iresh Molina as well as Stanislaus State's Annie Wild, ultimately taking fourth overall with a time of 21:13.5.

This is the first PacWest weekly honor for Southern this season and the third in her career.
