SUNRIVER, Ore. — The fall golf season is underway and this weekend the Academy of Art University women's golf team kicked off its autumn campaign at the Golfweek Division II Fall Invitational at Sunriver Resort in Oregon, finishing 11th in the 12-team field.
 
The Urban Knights posted progressively better scores with each round during the tournament. Saturday ART U started with a 322 in round one and closed the day with a 311 in round two. Sunday the Knights posted their best team score of the tournament and topped three other programs with a 302 to finish with a total score of 935.
 
Shu-lin Lin (t-15th) and Crystal Wang (20th) both finished in the top-20 for the Urban Knights. Wang was just 1-over for the day Sunday with four birdies in the third round as she, too, posted better scores with each round. Wang went 78-75-72 and leaped five spots on Sunday to climb into the top-20. Lin shot 75-73-75 to finish 10-over for the tournament.
 
Sterling Hawkins (t-56th), Roxanne Matta (t-49th) and Gabriela Rosales (t-60th) also competed for the Urban Knights. Academy of Art will next compete on Oct. 13-14 in St. George, Utah, at the Dixie State Invitational.
