2024-25 All-PacWest Teams
LONG BEACH, Calif. – A duo of Urban Knights from Academy of Art women's golf were recognized in Tuesday's award announcement from the Pacific West Conference, as freshman
Isabella Christy was named the All-PacWest Second Team while sophomore
Chantel Tsai earned herself a spot on the All-PacWest Third Team.
"I'm incredibly proud of Izzy and Chantel for being recognized for their outstanding play this season," said Head Coach Beth Allen. "They've worked extremely hard both on and off the golf course, and it's great to see their efforts rewarded. I know they're truly grateful for the recognition and appreciate the honor."
Christy's Second Team honor comes after a season where the native of Paintsville, Kentucky averaged a 76.19 round over the course of 21 rounds and nine tournaments. Christy recorded six top-10
finishes in the campaign, while she came out as the individual champion at the Urban Knight Invitational on Sept. 30. The Interior Architecture & Design major also managed to tie for third place out of a 86-competitor field at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella on
Sept. 17 putting together a 3-over-par 147, her best two-round score of her first collegiate year.
As Tsai also played in 21 rounds total within nine different tournaments, the sophomore maintained the third-lowest average round score on ART U, as she put together a 77.09 average in the campaign while scoring a two-round 153 score or less on three occasions. With four top-14 finishes on the year, Tsai's best rank came from the Urban Knight Invitational on Sept. 30 as she placed herself in third by tournament's end. When it mattered most, the Communication & Media Technologies major finished tied for 14th at the PacWest Tournament to help lead her team to third overall as a unit on
Apr. 23.
While this is the second conference award of Christy's career after receiving a PacWest Golfer of the Week award on Oct. 2, it is also Tsai's second as she was honored with a PacWest Freshman of the Year award
last season.
