SoCal Swing Takes Knights To Mt. SAC, Bryan Clay

Down in Southern California for a busy two days, Urban Knights Track & Field offered memorable performances in both the 56th Annual Mt. SAC Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific.

Walnut, CA – Among the highlights at Mt. SAC were Jordan Edwards improving on his time in the 100m dash with a 10.45 mark that earned him 15th of 71 and a top 10 NCAA provisional qualifier. He would also make upper third of a strong 200m group, going 21.23 for 18th in the event.

In the men's 1500m, Nicolas Rifflard dropped more than two full seconds off his time to secure both a program record and a NCAA provisional qualifying mark with his 3:51.15. He would finish in the upper tier as well.


Azusa, CA – Another first place finish for Keanna Moody in the 400m dash was a major highlight at the Bryan Clay Invitaitonal. She matched her season best and the program record she set with a 54.76 for first overall out of 61 competitors.

Additionally, the men's 4x400m of Thomas Benson, Marlon Britton, Geno Simmons, and Edgar Panford made a major statement with their first place finish, a new program record, and NCAA provisional qualifier all from their time of 3:11.81.

Dinesha Bean separated herself from a large group in the 200m, placing third of 93 with a 24.03 mark.

Academy of Art will be back for the second day of the Mt. SAC Relays while some members of the team will be at Long Beach State's Beach Invitational in Cerritos, CA.
