2014 Beach Invitational Results

On Saturday, the Urban Knights concluded their trip down south with the Mt. SAC Relays and Beach Invitational.

Walnut, CA – The biggest highlight on day two of ART U in the Mt. SAC Relays was Dinesha Bean's performance in the 100m hurdles. In a small field of some of the best hurdlers in the world, the senior showed she could compete on that same level and turned in a 13.27. The mark is fractions of a second off the NCAA Automatic Qualifier, but immediately shoots Bean up to #2 in the NCAA Division II in the event.

Additionally in that same competition, Urban Knights alum Vashti Thomas produced a 12.99 while serving Nike.

Cerritos, CA – Down closer to Long Beach State, Academy of Art also sent a contingent to the Beach Invitational at Jack Rose Track. There, Ronald Spears, Jr. found himself just 0.02 from his career best in the 100m dash, offering a 10.70 en route to fourth place out of 80 sprinters.

ART U will be in action in the Drake Relays and Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26) and Pacific West Conference Championships (Apr. 25-26) next weekend.
