, Ronald Spears, Jr., Quinlan Wright, and Edwards finished fifth in their heat and 10th overall, missing out on a chance to compete in the finals. For the women, the foursome of Mistic Scott, Omotoyosi Oniru, Dierra Haven, and Keanna Moody ended up 15th overall, outside of the finals qualifiers.

"Obviously we are all extremely disappointed with how the night ended," Coach Ryan said. "The 4x4 is a big deal in this program and the bottom line is both teams blew huge opportunities. Prior to that, we had run a flawless meet."

Now with 11 groups or individuals qualified for Saturday's event finals, Academy of Art Track & Field will be in action in finals of the following events tomorrow back at GVSU (times all PST):

"We have a lot of opportunities come Saturday and everyone needs to focus and deliver big performances if we are going to walk out of here with what we came in pursuit of," Coach Ryan said.
