Both visitors to the Bay Area are either tied or above the Urban Knights in the standings, making these prime matches for moving ART U up from sixth overall going in.

Then, on Saturday, Oct. 24, Academy of Art hosts Azusa Pacific out at City College of San Francisco. KNIGHT WATCHWith 63 saves thus far, Academy of Art ranks second to only Holy Names in the PacWest. With two game-winning goals thus far, senior midfielder
Kristof Urbanyi still needs just one more to tie legendary forward Grimur Grimsson for the program record. He is also three more goals and four points away from tying his former teammate for the Urban Knights record as well. Among the 11 players to register points for Academy of Art, sophomore forward
Alex Walsh has four goals for eight points, junior forward
Justin Erhunmwunsee has two goals for four points, and sophomore midfielder
Alexander Tombach adds a team-best two assists.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kevin Mendez has played all 1,143:10 minutes in goal for Academy of Art and went for a career-high 11 saves against Fresno Pacific. He ranks second in the PacWest in total saves (63), saves per game (5.67), and is tied for third in shutouts (3). He is up to 25th in the country in total saves as well.
SEA LIONS ROARING RECENTLYIt has been a tale of two halves of the season thus far for Point Loma. After going 1-2-2 in their first five matches, the Sea Lions have sported a 5-1 turnaround in their last six. During a five-match win streak, PLNU defeated Azusa Pacific and California Baptist, but most recently saw that run come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Concordia. Point Loma has scored the third-most goals in the conference (19) and carries the man with the fifth-most points in Manu Montal. Defensively, Michael Lambert ranks second in the PacWest with an .833 save percentage and 0.56 goals against average while splitting time with Avrin Yakou. The Knights and Sea Lions have met three times and in addition to two PLNU victories, the teams have tied once.
A TO ZEntering the week with a 3-3-1 conference record, identical to that of ART U, Azusa Pacific has struggled outside of a three-match win streak spanning Oct. 3-10. The Cougars either lost or tied their first six matches of the year, righted the ship with a series of wins including a 2-0 triumph over Concordia, but most recently dropped contests to California Baptist and Fresno Pacific. APU challenges Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 22 prior to meeting Academy of Art. A total of 17 goals and 15 assists have the Cougars top five in both categories thanks in large part to Callum Wallace who is tied for the PacWest lead in points per game (1.57) despite playing in just seven matches (half the number of those with whom he is tied). In goal, Tyler Jaramillo has all but 21 minutes of the work with 31 saves and 19 goals allowed through 11 matches. Three meetings have seen two APU victories and one by ART U to date.
MEN'S SOCCER DROPS DUEL WITH DSU 1-0Rather different than the high-scoring women's match preceding it, the
Oct. 17 Pacific West Conference men's soccer contest between Academy of Art and Dixie State ended 1-0 with the Red Storm on top.
LOOKING AHEADART U will play its final two road matches next week at Notre Dame de Namur (Oct. 29) and at Dominican (Oct. 31) prior to a pair at home to end the regular season.
