2015 Seattle Pacific Final Qualifier
2015 Cal State Stanislaus OpenAcademy of Art University Track & Field saw its indoor regular season give way to the outdoor regular season as members of each squad competed at the Seattle Pacific Final Qualifier (indoor) and Cal State Stanislaus Open (outdoor) on Saturday.
SEATTLE – Going for one last chance in several events, a select collection of Urban Knights were up north at Seattle Pacific where
Roman Skovronski dropped a new personal record with a 48.35, bettering his previous mark by nearly a second.
In the Distance Medley Relay,
Mack Marbas, Skovronski,
Austin Murray, and
Valentin Pepiot teamed up to produce the second-lowest time in program history with a 10:03.92 which makes them a provisional qualifier in the event. Murray was also in action in the 800m, turning in a 1:53.75 that was one-hundredth off his PR.
TURLOCK, Calif. – Continuing the tradition of starting their outdoor season at Cal State Stanislaus, ART U had a strong showing with multiple top finishes in the meet.
The men had
Shaquille Howard claim first overall out of 25 competitors in the 400m and, in the 200m,
Marlon Britton led a string of Urban Knights who finished among the upper tied including
Alexander McNally,
James Steptoe, and
Thomas Benson. Benson also posted the program's first ever mark in the men's high jump.
In the 800m,
Logan Means came tenths of a second close to the program record with his 1:57.42.
On the women's side,
Chante Sneed qualified for first among NCAA DII schools in the 200m while
Amanda Odesjo came in second of 20 sprinters in the 100m.
Elizabeth Khuu led a group of eight in the 800m and
Hadiyah Muhammad had her first taste of the outdoor triple jump, finishing on top of a small contingent of five jumpers.
March will bring the NCAA Indoor National Championships while those Knights continuing into outdoor will be back in Turlock for the Kim Duyst Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 7.
