Servin Named Champion of Battle at the Bay

Battle at the Bay Final Results

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. – Making up for the canceled tournament at Sonoma State a week ago, four teams gathered at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links on Monday for a one-round shootout. Freshman Anahi Servin was the light that shined through the once smoke-filled sky as she was named champion of the Battle at the Bay.

Servin shot a 76 ( 4) to secure the victory in the tournament while also producing a birdie on hole No. 6. This is the first win of the Asuncion, Paraguay native's young career and the second time that she has topped the stat sheet for the Urban Knights this fall. The first time came in ART U's first tournament of the season, the Skyhawk West Regional Preview when she tied for 21st.

"Anahi is a great player," said head coach Elaine Harris. "She has been leading our team in many events and I was excited to watch her win her first collegiate tournament. One thing she did particularly well today was putt. She has been working on her putting the past few weeks which helped her deliver in some clutch moments today."

In second place for Academy of Art was sophomore Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo. Kuo tied for eighth overall with a score of 81 ( 9). Just one stroke behind was a trio of Knights who all tied for 11th in the tournament: senior Sterling Hawkins, sophomore Elan Hawkins, and freshman Iveta Posledni. Meanwhile, competing as an individual, senior Shu-lin Lin posted the lowest score of that division (81), while junior Maria Fernanda Traboulsi shot an 85.

With their fall tournaments now at an end, ART U will spend the next few months preparing for the upcoming spring season.

"I am sorry to see the fall season end," said Harris. "But, I am also looking forward to working on our game in the offseason."
