2017 Johnny Mathis Invitational
SAN FRANCISCO – Academy of Art University track & field joined several other teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association in beginning its outdoor campaign with SF State's Johnny Mathis Invitational out at Cox Stadium on Saturday.
The women's highlights included
Chandler Johnson in the 1500m where she placed fourth of 51 with the third-fastest time in program history, going 4:43.17.
In the 800m,
Kaelyn Harbison claimed third of 34 with a 2:20.24 mark.
Hadiyah Muhammad went for a career-best in the long jump, launching to 10-6.5 (5.14m). She then offered a 36-5.75 (11.12m) in her season triple jump debut.
On the men's side,
Michael Houston made his ART U debut with results in the 400m and 200m. He placed first out of 19 competitors with a 49.89 in the 400m then came back to take seventh of 31 with his 22.53 in the 200m.
In the high jump,
Brady Johnson posted a personal best high jump of 5-10 (1.78m). The height is currently second on the all-time list.
Academy of Art completes its indoor regular season tomorrow with the Boston University Last Chance Meet then continues outdoor campaign on Mar. 3 with the Stanislaus Kim Duyst Invitational.
