NCAA Division II Women's Super Regional Final Results
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Academy of Art women's golf put together their best combined score in the final round of the 2017 Super Regionals with freshman
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo leading the way. The Taiwan native shot a 74 (+2) on Wednesday to finish the tournament tied for 33rd overall.
Kuo compiled two birdies in her first nine holes which brought her score down to as low as one stroke under par. Her score of 74 is the second-lowest round of her career after posting a 73 at the
Sonoma State Fall Invitational. The Motion Pictures and Television major came into Wednesday tied for 48th and managed to advance 15 spots in the standings with a strong final round.
"After working on her putting after yesterday's round, she went out today with a sure stroke and played with consistency," said head coach
Elaine Harris. "She played with a confidence that I look forward to seeing more of in the years to come."
Junior
Shu-lin Lin also offered her lowest round of the tournament, scoring a 75 to finish Regionals tied for 43rd. Lin had a team-high three birdies in the closing 18 holes which helped her improve 17 spots on the leaderboard over Tuesday's 60th-place finish. Tied with Lin in the overall standings was junior
Sterling Hawkins who shot an 80 in the final round. The 2017 PacWest Women's Golfer of the Year finished the day with two birdies on the 13th and 18th holes.

Elan Hawkins who matched her second-round score of 83 strokes on the final day. Overall, she was just two strokes behind S. Hawkins and Lin and finished the tournament tied for 46th. Competing in her final event for Academy of Art, senior
Roxanne Matta finished 64th overall after posting her second-best score on Wednesday (84).
The Urban Knights' final score was 950, just two shy of Chico State and Sonoma State who both tied for 10th. West Texas A&M won the tournament with 897 strokes after just outlasting Dallas Baptist who finished with 899.
With their 2017 campaign now at an end, ART U will return home where they will begin preparations for the 2017-2018 season.
"While the outcome of this tournament was disappointing, I saw good spirits and team work," said Harris. "I look forward to building off of the mental training we did this year and preparing to compete for a national appearance in the years to come."
