Servin Wins Back to Back - ART U Crowned Champions

Dixie State Fall Invitational Final Results

HURRICANE, Utah --
Anahi Servin has done it again. Servin has won the Dixie State Fall Invitational after shooting a 70 (-2) on the final day to end the tournament with a cumulative score of 142 (-2). The Sophomore has won back to back tournaments and is undefeated in the fall season. As a team, Academy of Art held the top spot heading into Tuesday and refused to be overtaken shooting a 292 on the final day to end at +9, five strokes ahead of second place Cal State East Bay, and capture their first tournament win of the year.

"The team feels great," said head coach Mitch Lowe. "I'm happy to see the work paying off so soon."

18866With the win, Servin has taken first in five tournaments in just over a year as an Urban Knight. She went into the final round tied for fourth, but after shooting the lowest round of all individuals with a score of 70 (-2) she ended two strokes ahead of second place finisher Yu Hsin Chang of CSUEB. Servin also had the best score on par-5 holes at -3 and led ART U in birdies with seven.

Junior Elan Hawkins followed close behind with her fourth place finish, shooting a 73 (+1) in the final round to contribute to her cumulative score of 146, just two strokes short of a runner up finish. Hawkins led all individuals in pars, accumulating 27 over the two days. Junior Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo maintained her sixth place positioning with a score of 76 (+4) on the final day to round out ART U's top ten finishers. Closing out Academy of Art's scorers and placing for the first time as an Urban Knight was freshman Nattavadee "Baipor" Khunsri who ended with a combined score of 155 to tie for 21st.

"We had a good game plan on how to approach this golf course," said Lowe. "Everyone is starting to play with a lot of confidence. Very proud of all of them."

With the first place finish Academy of Art women's golf is off to the best start in program history. They will look to continue their tremendous fall season at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational Oct. 22-24.
