Sonoma State Invitational Final Results

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Academy of Art women's golf claimed runner up at the Sonoma State Invitational for their third top two finish or better in as many tournaments. ART U has placed second or better in all three tournament this fall and continue to improve upon their best start in program history.

"Another good solid performance by the team," said head coach Mitch Lowe. "I was very proud of how they handled themselves."

The top finish was led by strong performances by junior Elan Hawkins and sophomore Anahi Servin who tied for fifth with a cumulative score of 150 (+6). Hawkins shot a 76 (+4) in the final round to maintain her top five positioning, while Servin improved four strokes with a score of 73 (+1) to climb six spots on the leaderboard.

"Elan played really solid this week," said Lowe. "Her game is continuing to improve. Look for even better things to come from her."

Junior Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo rounded out the top 10 by shooting an identical second round of 76 (+4) to maintain her solid 10th place positioning and end the tournament with a combined score of 152.

Closing out the scoring for the Urban Knights was sophomore Iveta Posledni who improved five strokes on the final day to jump an astounding 17 places and end the invitational in 12th.

The Sonoma State Invitational concludes the Urban Knights' successful fall season, comprising of two second place finishes and a tournament championship. Academy of Art women's golf looks to transfer momentum from their stellar fall to the upcoming 2019 spring season.

"We are looking forward to the spring season already" said Lowe.
