CBU Lancer Joust Final Results

JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. – In the second and final round of the CBU Lancers' Joust, Academy of Art women's golf improved a total of nine strokes, finishing with 603 overall to tie for third. The Urban Knights were just 12 strokes behind California Baptist who claimed the team title with a score of 591.
 
After shooting a 77 in the opening round, freshman Anahi Servin improved six strokes to tie for fourth. Her score of 71 was the lowest out of all individuals in the second round and it tied for the lowest score of the tournament. On the final day, Servin scored four birdies, giving her a tie for the most throughout both rounds (seven). Also with an impressive second round, was sophomore Elan Hawkins who scored a 72 on Tuesday, finishing with 151 overall to tie for 12th. Hawkins improved seven strokes after shooting a 79 on Monday.
 
Two strokes behind Hawkins was senior Shu-lin Lin whose 77 strokes in the second round gave her a tie for 17th with 153 overall. Sophomore Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo mirrored Lin in both rounds and also tied for 17th.

"I am really proud of how the girls dropped their scores today," said head coach Elaine Harris. "This consistency and and ability to make birdies even at the end of the round is a testament to their mental strength. We will be seeing many of the same teams next week, so I am looking forward to competing against another strong field."
 
Now, with two great finishes to open the 2018 season, Academy of Art will turn around to compete in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout March 5-6.
