2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships (Final Results)
PITTSBURG, Kan. --Â Mobolade Ajomale proved he was the fastest man at 60m and 200m in NCAA Division II for the second consecutive year on the final day of the Indoor Track & Field National Championships back inside Pitt State's Robert W. Plaster Center. Capturing his fifth and sixth career national titles in less than two hours, Ajomale became an 11-time All-American with Saturday's results.
Beginning the day in the final of the 60m, Ajomale matched his season-best from the
day prior, by going 6.60 en route to first overall. It was not without a challenge from Tiffin's Jonte Baker who posted a 6.61, but for the third straight year, Ajomale was crowned the champion.
Another successful title defense came in the 200m where Ajomale dropped a 20.91. The mark was 0.05 in front of Ashland's Myles Pringle (20.96) from the same heat and put the redshirt junior from Richmond Hill, Canada into elite company as he became one of two NCAA male student-athletes to win back-to-back titles in the 60m and 200m as well as one of just three men to win a total of five career individual indoor event titles.
"Bolade had a really good meet," said head coach
Kevin LaSure. "It is really special to for him to do something only one other person as done in the history of Division II track & field in winning both the 60m and 200m in consecutive years."

Combining Ajomale's 20 points toward the team score (10 for each first-place finish) with
Michane Ricketts' five points in the long jump from Friday, Academy of Art collectively finished eighth overall.
After moving into second place at the end of the first triple jump flight with a season-best 39-9.75 (12.13m) in her last attempt,
Rian Young-Werner found herself ninth overall starting the final. She would proceed to match that mark in her final jump, but it did not move her into All-American territory as she remained ninth at the event's conclusion.
In the women's 3000m,
Swann Phelippeau delivered a 9:50.46 to claim the 15th spot overall.
The day ended with the men's and women's 4x400m relays where
Michael Houston,
Christian Carter,
Kaze Poitier, and Ajomale went 3:15.49 for 11th overall. On the women's side of the 4x400m,
Marion Presigny,
Schae Graham,
Jasmine Grace, Young-Werner posted a 3:52.36 for 11th overall.
Academy of Art will soon be back on the track to continue its outdoor season on Mar. 16-17 with Sacramento State's Hornet Invitational.
