NEW ORLEANS -- In a Thursday announcement, Academy of Art University men's and women's cross country made it three consecutive years collecting U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors. Additionally, runners Victor Moreau and Giulia McIsaac were each named USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals.

To qualify as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country individual, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of total eligible runners at his or her NCAA regional championship or in the top half of the field at the NCAA Championships. Teams must have compiled a cumulative grand point average of at least 3.0 and must have scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet to qualify for All-Academic awards.

19101As a team, the ART U men's squad collectively posted a 3.16 GPA, were runners-up at the PacWest Championship, and made their fifth consecutive appearance at NCAA Regionals where they finished 11th overall. This year, the squad included Moreau, Freddie Hessian, Rabah Houali, Logan Briner, Hudson Lockette, Joshua Browne, and Nicolas Boffman.

The women's team reached NCAA Regionals for the third consecutive year and also delivered its highest GPA thus far (3.32). Following a fourth-place finish the PacWest Championship, the Urban Knights also claimed 11th at Regionals. This year, the squad who headed to the NCAA postseason included McIsaac, Hasna Kaarour, Audrey Rosencrans, Emma Johnson, Chandler Johnson, Alyssa Winter, and Ashley Brown.

In his second season with Academy of Art, Moreau improved his cumulative GPA by almost a full 0.3 points to earn his second All-Academic Individual honor. He would compile a 3.62 GPA in Communications & Media Technologies while helping the team with a PacWest Runner of the Week honor early on, a sixth-place finish at the PacWest Championship for All-PacWest First Team, and his 50th-place result at NCAA Regionals.

All-PacWest Team for the third straight year and an All-Academic Individual for the second time, McIsaac finished the fall with a 3.27 cumulative GPA in Animation & Visual Effects. After taking 18th at the PacWest Championships and she would remain strong in her final collegiate cross country race, ending NCAA Regionals at 31st overall.

Moreau was one of 270 men representing 110 institutions while McIsaac was among 379 women from 123 institutions who earned this distinguished USTFCCCA All-Academic honor for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments.
