2019 PacWest Conference Championship Final Results
LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. -- For the first time in program history Academy of Art women's golf was crowned PacWest Champions and, for the second time in two years, sophomore
Anahi Servin won the individual title. Servin became the first golfer ever to repeat as conference champion and did so in dominant fashion, carding the second-best cumulative score in tournament history at 1-under-par 215. As a team, the Urban Knights completely ran away with it, ending with a 20-stroke advantage over second place Biola. Their cumulative 889 team score was the second-lowest score of any team at the PacWest Championship.
"It's just such a cool thing for the school," said head coach
Mitch Lowe. "It's a great thing for the players and a great thing for the athletic department. Very very proud of how the girls worked all year long and they were able to pull off the conference championship."
Not far behind Servin was freshmanÂ
Nattavadee "Baipor" Khunsri who finished tied for second with a cumulative 220. Sophomore
Iveta Posledni came in fifth after a 74 in the final round and juniorÂ
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo was the fourth Urban Knight in the top-10 with her seventh place finish. All four earned All-Tournament Team honors. Junior
Elan Hawkins ended with a cumulative 234 to take 11th.
"We're not finished yet," said Lowe. "I think this team has a good chance of progressing through Regionals and making it to Nationals. We really look forward to Amarillo coming up."
After their dominant performance at the PacWest Championship, the Urban Knights will look ahead to the NCAA Division II Super Regionals, starting Monday, May 6th.
