THIRD TIMES A CHARM
Academy of Art returns to the NCAA Division II West Regionals for the third straight year and fifth time in program history. The Urban Knights will be the No. 4 seed and have a rematch of the PacWest Championship finals versus No. 1 seeded Hawaii Pacific, who they are 0-2 against this year. The winner will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament on May 21 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Academy of Art will take on Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday, May 14 at 11:30 a.m. HT and 2:30 p.m. PT in Kailua, Hawaii at the Kailua Racquet Club. KNIGHT WATCH
The Urban Knights are coming off a season in which they achieved their highest national ranking in school history at No. 5 and had five players selected to the All-PacWest team. Seniors Alma Thell-Lenntorp and Klara Thell-Lenntorp highlighted the awards, earning first team All-PacWest in singles and doubles, while junior Mariacristina Andrisani and freshman Sofia Ragona were named to the All-PacWest third team in singles and doubles. A. Thell-Lenntorp was the only Urban Knight to win a point in the Knights last meeting of the Sharks on April 20th, taking down Elisa Elhadj 7-6, 6-3 in singles. Alma ended with the best singles record at 14-2 and doubles record at 15-3.

SHARK ATTACK
Hawaii Pacific comes into their match with ART U fresh off their second straight PacWest Championship title and with a 13-5 record. In the conference tournament, HPU beat Cal State LA in the quarterfinals, Azusa Pacific in the semifinals, and Academy of Art in the title match. The Sharks had a strong 2019 season with their only five losses coming from either top 25 ranked teams or Division I schools.

RUNNER-UP REPEAT FOR ART U AT PACWEST CHAMPIONSHIP
Academy of Art women's tennis claimed runner-up at the PacWest Championship Tournament, Saturday at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex, after dropping a tough 4-1 match to Hawaii Pacific who claimed their second straight title. The Urban Knights have now placed third or better at the PacWest Championship each of the past three years and have most likely secured themselves a spot in the 2019 NCAA West Regionals. Read More.

LOOKING AHEAD
If the Urban Knights can topple the Sharks for the first time this season they will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championship from May 21-25 in Altamonte Springs, Fla. at Sanlando Park.
