NCAA Division II National Championships Final Results
WGCA 2019 All-American Team
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. --Â Sophomore
Anahi Servin became the first All-American in Academy of Art women's golf history after ending the NCAA National Championship tied for fourth to solidify herself as one of the best collegiate golfers in the country.
"I really can't say enough about Anahi," said head coach
Mitch Lowe. "From her great attitude and her work ethic, we are very lucky to have her on this team. A well deserved honor to be named to the All-American team. It gives our whole team something to strive for going forward."
Servin went into the day tied for first and shot a 6-over-par 79, which dropped her three spots, however, her fourth place finish is higher than any ART U golfer's previous placement at Nationals and best of all 16 individuals. The sophomore out of Paraguay ended the Championship with a cumulative score of 6-over-par 223. Servin shot two birdies in round three on the 11th and 14th to bring her total to seven. She also had the fourth best score on par-5 holes, shooting 2-under-par.
"She had a great ball striking week," said Lowe. "I would say better than everyone in the field, but just couldn't get the putts in the hole. It's too bad the season is over, but we will keep improving for next year."
