ITA Regional Division II Awards

TEMPE, Ariz -- Senior Klara Thell-Lenntorp has been selected as the West Region ITA Most Improved Senior, as announced Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

"Klara is a very talented player and she was able to improve the short time we got to work together," said head coach Clarisse Baca. "Once she was able to put together her strengths --  forehand, volleys and serve, she started to win more points which turned into matches. I am super proud on how she finished her senior year."

In 2019 Thell-Lenntorp went 12-4 in doubles with a 9-4 record playing out of the top position and a 3-0 record playing in the second position. Her .750 winning percentage was a .131 point improvement from last season when she went 13-8 (.619) and primarily played out of the third position. At the end of the regular season, Thell-Lenntorp was named All-PacWest First Team in singles, an improvement on her 2018 Second Team singles recognition. Thell-Lenntorp ended her career at Academy of Art as the winningest doubles player in program history.
