PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Sept. 17)

IRVINE, Calif. – Cutting more than 25 seconds off his previous 8k lifetime-best while leading the team to third in the Kim Duyst Invitational, Academy of Art cross country redshirt senior Rabah Houali has been named Pacific West Conference Runner of the Week. The award was based on meets run Sept. 9-15.

Competing under the lights with a 9 p.m. start to the race, Houali remained in the front pack for the entirety of the 8k and crossed the finish line third individually with a time of 24:46.3. The mark bettered his previous personal record (25:12) which came at last year's PacWest Championship and guided ART U to a third-place finish back of Stanislaus State and UC Santa Cruz in the Sept. 14 meet.

This is the first PacWest weekly honor in Houali's career.
