2020 University of Washington Invitational Results (Day 1)
SEATTLE – The quartet of
Rabah Houali,
Grant Swinton,
Joshua Browne, and
James Young stole the show on Friday's start to the UW Invitational inside Dempsey Indoor. Combining for the fastest Distance Medley Relay raw time ever run by Academy of Art track & field, the collection of runners also delivered the fourth-fastest time of the season with their NCAA Division II Nationals provisional mark.
The aforementioned group went 9:54.28 for the second-fastest DMR time on the day and what ended up as top four in the country back of Western Colorado, Adams State, and Western Oregon. The time settled those individuals into first historically ahead of the ART U team of
Victor Moreau, Michael Houston, Houali, and Gatien Ariau who went an adjusted 9:58.76 as part of the 2018 Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.

On the women's side, the team's fastest DMR time of the season came Friday as
Natalia Novak,
Latavia Hawkins,
Jasmine Becker, and
Hasna Kaarour posted a 12:04.7 mark less than one-tenth of a second from Indoor Nationals provisional qualification. It was the fifth-fastest time in Academy of Art history.
In his career debut with the Urban Knights,
Gino Toscano led a trio of Academy of Art in the 60m hurdles. Toscano offered an 8.44 in the event prelims, putting himself fourth all-time with the program.
ART U returns to Dempsey Indoor to conclude the UW Invitational tomorrow with events beginning at 10 a.m.
