2020 Hillsdale Wide Track Classic Results (Day 1)
HILLSDALE, Mich. – On Friday inside Margot V. Biermann Center, Academy of Art track & field began the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic with multiple first place finishes and qualifications to Saturday's event semifinals.
Both
Ombretta Picciolie Minkue Meye and
Darria Matthias will be among the 18 women to contest the semis after they led 43 total competitors with 7.61 and 7.69 marks.
Gino Toscano also reached the semifinals of the 60m.
Individually, Matthias added her first NCAA Indoor Nationals provisional in the 200m with a time of 25.05 that was adjusted to 24.67 for track size.
Another top finish came for the men's Distance Medley Relay of
Rabah Houali,
Grant Swinton,
Joshua Browne, and
James Young who ended the day's action as first by more than 10 seconds. Their time of 10:09.29 was adjusted to 10:01.13 for track size, making them one of the top 15 teams in the country in the event as Indoor Nationals provisional qualifiers.
Runners-up in their respective 60m hurdles heats,
Camille Jouanno,
Davian Baker, and Toscano all advanced to the next round set to begin at 1:55 p.m. ET (10:55 a.m. ET) on Saturday.
The Urban Knights finish up their first of back-to-back trips to Michigan tomorrow with the second day of action in the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.
