2020 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS --Â With the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships a little under two weeks away, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2020 indoor regular season with a total of 26 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Monday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning nine members of the Urban Knights men's squad and four women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
second in the West Region (as of Feb. 25),
Grant Swinton (200m, 400m, 4x400m),
Charlie Messai (Mile, 3000m, DMR), and
James Young (Mile, 800m, DMR) collected three awards apiece while a pair of selections went to
Rabah Houali (800m, DMR) and
Kaze Poitier (DMR, 4x400m). Individual All-Region honorees included
Davian Baker (60mH),
Joshua Browne (800m),
Daquan Berry (4x400m), and
Lennard Marshall (4x400m).
Leading the women in total All-Region honors,
Ombretta Picciolie Minkue Meye (60m, 200m, 400m) received three selections while dual awards went to
Camille Jouanno (TJ, LJ),
Natalia Novak (800m, Mile), and
Darria Matthias (60m, 200m).
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama next week on Mar. 13-14.
