2021 Pioneer Shootout Results

ALAMEDA, Calif. – For the second consecutive week, junior Anahi Servin tied for the tournament win to lead Academy of Art women's golf at the Pioneer Shootout in Chuck Corica Golf Complex on Tuesday. The Urban Knights finished third as a squad with all four counters among the top 18.

"The team definitely showed some improvement from last week," said Head Coach Mitch Lowe. "There were some flashes of what the team is capable of. We still have some work to do to get where we want to go and we know we are working on the correct things."

Servin totaled eight birdies, the most of the two-day tourney, and improved upon her first round by two strokes to finish with a 1-under-par 71 in round two. Her combined score of 144 knotted her with Dominican's Claire Shubin for the win.

"Anahi had a good tournament again this week," Lowe said. "Her game continues to show improvement in the right areas every week."

Both junior Iveta Posledni and freshman Valeria Ruiz tied for 13th overall with scores of 161 respectively, getting there in different ways as Posledni bettered her opening round by a stroke (81-80). Ruiz went 78-80 for her finish and freshman Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn ended up tied for 18th overall with a 163.

ART U will make it three tournaments in three weeks with Northwest Nazarene's Nighthawks Invitational on Mar. 8-9 at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore.
