2021 NNU Nighthawks Invitational Results
LIVERMORE, Calif. – A pair of top-five finishes helped propel Academy of Art women's golf to a second place finish at the NNU Nighthawks Invitational from Chuck Corica Golf Complex, combining for a 56-over-par 632 to end 11 shots behind tournament winner Sonoma State. The finish was powered by a pair of top-five finishes from the junior duo of
Anahi Servin and
Iveta Posledni, as Servin took home second place while Posledni would trail just behind in fourth.
As a squad, the Urban Knights would total nine birdies to lead the tournament, while also recording the second-most pars with 45. It was the best finish as a team this season for ART U as well, having improved on their finish in each tournament this year. The Urban Knights would also have the best average score on par four holes, combining for a 4.44 stroke average on such holes.
Servin was seeking her third consecutive individual tournament title after having won her previous two times out, and tied the lowest single-round score with a 1-over-par 73 including three birdies in the final round of action. However, her final score of 7-over-par 151 would land her in second place, one stroke shy of tournament winner Lexi Nielsen of Sonoma State. Trailing just behind in fourth place was Posledni, recording her best finish of the season at 12-over-par 156 including four birdies. Freshman
Valeria Ruiz would notch her first top-10 finish of the season, ending the final round at 17-over-par while fellow freshman
Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn would tie for 20th at 22-over-par 166.
The Urban Knights will play host for the next tournament, as they will tee off the Academy of Art Invitational from Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif.
