ART U Leads PLNU Sea Lion Invite, Four Knights In Top 20

PLNU Sea Lions Invitational (Round One)

SAN DIEGO, Calif. –
It was the definition of a team effort in the opening round of the PLNU Sea Lions Invitational on Monday, as Academy of Art women's golf rests in first place at 16-over-par 304 thanks four Urban Knights ending the first round in the top-20, led by juniors Iveta Posledni and Anahi Servin in first and second place, respectively.

The Knights hold a slim lead in the team portion of the tournament, as their 16-over-par is just two strokes ahead of second place Biola (306) and four strokes ahead of third place Cal State San Marcos (308). The most experienced of the 2021-22 squad, Posledni and Servin helped guide the way for ART U, with Posledni dropping a birdie on both the front and back nine to end her day and claim the pole position. Trailing her by one stroke is the defending PacWest individual champion and All-American Servin, who opened and closed the front nine with a birdie en route to her tie for second at 2-over-par 74.

Finishing out the scoring for ART U was freshman Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn, as she ended the first round of her season in a tie for 15th place at 6-over-par 78. In her first tournament as an Urban Knight, sophomore Jae Eun Park is perched in the top 20 at 19th place, coming in one stroke shy of Rattanaprakarn at 7-over-par 79 with four birdies on the day.

The final round of the PLNU Sea Lions Invitational will tee off tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
