First-Place Showings For Servin, ART U At Birdie Fest

2021 Birdie Fest (Final Results)

Mitch Lowe & Anahi ServinSAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Academy of Art women's golf entered the final round of 2021 Birdie Fest atop the leaderboard, and finished the day in the same spot to claim their first team tournament win by two strokes with a combined score of 15-over-par 583. Capturing her first individual tournament win of the season was Anahi Servin, who closed out the action with a final combined score of 6-under-par 136.

Just a day after the Urban Knights and Servin set program records for the lowest respective team and individual round scores, both were able to stay focused and remain in first place, as the Knights were able to hold off the surging Sonoma State Seawolves on the final day by two strokes (17-over-par 585). It would be a close margin of victory for Servin who carded the lowest ART U round on day two at 2-over-par 74 to beat Lexi Nielsen of SSU by only three strokes (3-under-par 139). Both ART U and Servin would end with the tournament lead in birdies, as Servin captured three in the final round to finish with 12 while ART U combined for 31. It now marks the 11th tournament win and 30th top-10 finish in Servin's career, further extending both of her ART U program records.

Just as important in the victory was a trio of Urban Knights that would finish as a pack just behind Servin, beginning with junior Iveta Posledni in a tie for ninth place at 6-over-par 148. It was consecutive 3-over-par 75's for Posledni at Birdie Fest, totaling the fourth-most par's in the tournament with 25. Placing 11th was sophomore Jae Eun Park, her best finish early in her ART U career, using three birdies on day two en route to finishing at 7-over-par 149. Just a stroke behind Park was Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn, as she rounded out the Urban Knights scoring tied for 12th place at 8-over-par 150.

The Knights will have a brief layoff before returning to the course, as the action is set for Oct. 4 when the Urban Knights participate in the Sonoma State Invitational.
