Academy of Art Finishes Pioneer Shootout Tied For Fifth

2022 Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout Results

ALAMEDA, Calif. – Academy of Art women's golf combined to post a second round score of 302, three strokes off its opening round, resulting in a tie with Dominican for fifth place in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at Chuck Corica Golf Complex on Tuesday. Sophomore Jae Eun Park remained the team leader, tying for seventh individually.

Relatively balanced scoring through the front nine, Park had a strong finish as she birdied the final two holes for another 1-over-par 73 that was identical to the day prior and resulted in her ending with a 2-over-par 146. Like Park, freshman Tessa Geenen matched her round one score with a 3-over-par 75 to wind up knotted with five others for 15th at a 6-over-par 150. Turning in the second-most birdies of all competitors with five, junior Iveta Posledni completed the second round at a 6-over-par 78 for a 9-over-par 153, tying for 25th. Fellow junior Anahi Servin carded an 8-over-par 80 on Tuesday and wrapped up the event tied for 33rd with a 12-over-par 156.

The tournament winner was Sonoma State (589) by one stroke over Cal State East Bay (590) with the SSU tandem of Lexi Nielsen (143) and Samantha Cabunag (145) both inside the top five. Dominican's Claire Shubin (141) was the overall individual victor.
