2022 CSUSM Fujikura Invitational (Final Results)
VISTA, Calif. – Both Academy of Art women's golf and junior
Anahi Servin finished off the Cal State San Marcos Fujikura Invitational with a top five finish on Tuesday, as Servin climbed four spots to capture a tie for third place at 4-over-par 148 while ART U claimed fifth place as a unit at 41-over-par 617.
Carding the best round of the day for the Urban Knights was Servin, as she turned in her second 2-over-par 74 leading to her ultimate finish in third place, her best finish of the season. It was a steady day for Servin, dropping a pair of birdies while saving par 12 times. Tying for 34th with final scores of 13-over-par 157 was the duo of junior
Iveta Posledni and freshman
Valeria Ruiz, with Poslendi ending her final round at 6-over-par 78 thanks to an eagle on the 17th hole, while Ruiz was 8-over-par with a pair of birdies. Rounding out the scoring was freshman
Tessa Geenen, who turned in the second-best finish of the Knights on the day at 4-over-par 76, ultimately finishing in a tie for 41st at 14-over-par 158.
Though Servin did end as the top individual finisher in the Pacific West Conference, fellow PacWest member Biola came in just above the Knights as a team in third place at 29-over-par 605. Claiming the team title host school Cal State San Marcos with a combined score of 18-over-par 594, and they boasted the individual champion in Diana Delgado who was the only golfer to finish the tournament in the red at 1-under-par 143.
Academy of Art will have a couple of weeks off before returning to the links, as they will participate in The Patriot Invitational from Poppy Hills Golf Course on Monday, Mar. 21.
