2022 RJGA Palm Valley Classic (Final Results)
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Academy of Art women's golf closed out the RGJA Palm Valley Classic in solid fashion on Saturday, carding the seventh-best round as a team in the final round to jump six spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 12th place at a combined 37-over-par 613.
Three Urban Knights turned in identical scores of 2-over-par 74 on the day, the first of which belonged to ART U's best finisher in sophomore
Jae Eun Park in a tie for 34th place, as she dropped back-to-back birdies on the ninth and 10th holes. The second to do so was junior
Anahi Servin, as her round had a team-best four birdies en route to finishing in a tie for 51st place at 10-over-par 154. While not factoring into the scoring, junior
Iveta Posledni carded the other 2-over-par with a birdie on the 13th. Rounding out the scoring was the freshman duo of
Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn and
Tessa Geenen, who finished in a tie for 72nd place with a final score of 13-over-par 157.
The Knights tied for 12th place with Holy Names, though the top finishing Pacific West Conference school was Dominican in 10th place at 29-over-par 605. Capturing the team title was Northeastern State after jumping three spots in the final round with a final combined score of 12-over-par 588, though the individual champion was Faith Kilgore of Colorado Christian University at 7-under-par 137. Ending as the top PacWest individual was Claire Shubin of the Penguins in a tie for eighth place at 2-over-par 146.
It will be a short turnaround for the Urban Knights, as they will be back in action on Monday, Apr. 4 when they take part in the West Texas A&M Desert Invitational.
