2022 Westminster Wasatch Invitational (Final Results)
SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – A score of 3-over-par was achieved by two Urban Knights during the final round of the 2022 Westminster Wasatch Invitational, but it was not enough to help Academy of Art women's golf on the leaderboard as ART U closed the action in eighth as a team with a combined overall score of 97-over-par 961.
It was a combination of junior
Tessa Geenen and freshman
Nicole Yang who turned in the identical scores, as each recorded a birdie on the back nine while closing out the tournament with the 3-over-par 75s. It would lead Yang to be the second best finisher on ART U in a tie for 26th place at 21-over-par 237, and Geenen trailed shortly behind in a tie for 31st place overall score of 23-over-par 239.
Closing as the top overall finisher for Academy of Art was junior
Napat "Plern" Rattanaprakarn, tying for 24th place at 20-over-par 236 despite carding a 5-over-par 77 in the closing round. Rounding out the scoring for the Urban Knights was junior
Valeria Ruiz, finishing in 53rd place they combined score of 38-over-par 254.
Cruising to first place in the team portion was the University of Tampa with a combined overall score of 27-over-par 891 led by individual champion Ana Maria Jimenez Rios who took home the hardware after she finished with the final score of even-par 216. Two spots above Academy of Art was the best team from the Pacific West Conference in Biola, and the Eagles boasted the top PacWest individual finisher in Madison Voisard who ended in a tie for sixth place at 9-over-par 225.
In one week's time, the Urban Knights will be in Dallas as ART U participates in the West Regional Preview beginning on Monday, Oct. 3.
