PacWest Athletes of the Week (Mar. 25) – Women | Men

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- After each delivered multiple NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals provisional marks including a program record at Sacramento State's Hornet Invitational, Academy of Art track & field's Lina Hanich and Tre'Sean Bouie were both named PacWest Track Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. The awards are for meets from March 17-23.

In her first outdoor action after an All-American effort in the indoor 800m, Hanich once again broke her own 800m program record on Mar. 21. At 2:05.23, she delivered the fastest mark NCAA DII has seen this season (21st in DII history) before going on to deliver another Outdoor Nationals provisional mark in the 1500m at 4:27.00 (third in DII this year) on Mar. 22.

In addition to her individual success, Hanich also ran the second leg of the Urban Knights' 4x400m relay, going 3:47.36 for third in the country thus far in 2025.

Responsible for three Outdoor Nationals provisional marks all on Mar. 22, Bouie posted the second-fastest 400m time in the country at 47.22.

In addition to his individual success, Bouie provided the leadoff legs of the Urban Knights' 4x400m and 4x100m relays. The 4x400m was second in NCAA DII at 3:11.20 while the 4x100m came through at 40.67 for 11th in the nation thus far.

This is the first PacWest weekly honor in each of the careers of Hanich and Bouie.
