Defender of the Week for the second time this season, senior guard Jasmin Guinn made major contributions to a 3-0 week for Academy of Art University women's basketball to start the new year. She averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 2.7 assists all while shooting 43.8 percent from the field.
Guinn started the new year with six steals as well as her fifth double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) in ART U's dominant 80-53 victory at Holy Names on
Jan. 5. Instrumental in a 71-62 comeback win against Point Loma
two days later, the senior guard finished with 21 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Finally, Guinn ended the stretch of three games in five days with 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals in another
come-from-behind triumph hosting Hawaii Pacific on her birthday.
After three this past week, Guinn now has 3+ steals in 13 of 17 games this year and, on five occasions, she has notched 6+ steals, doing so at Holy Names. She currently leads the PacWest in steals per game (3.8) and ranks third in NCAA Division II.
