Head Coach Joy Aud, an alumna from Notre Dame de Namur University, was especially pleased to defeat her alma mater and to witness
Stuart Favretto place 13th overall out of 100 golfers, several from the nation's top Division I and Division II golf programs.
"This tournament was full of many firsts for our team. It was freshman
Joshua Anderson 's first tournament, the first time we broke 300 as a team and the first time
Stuart Favretto achieved a personal low of 69 on the second day of the tournament,” said Aud.
“Now that we have completed our first spring tournament, I am really looking forward to seeing what our team will do in upcoming tournaments and I'm expecting great results from all of my players.”
Junior
Dave Carney also achieved a career low, finishing the second day with a score of 75.
Carney finished 61st overall in the tournament, while Anderson finished 77th overall. Sophomore Erik Majzner finished 55th overall and sophomore Matt Garcia finished 89th overall.
Next up for the Urban Knights is the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational at Livermore's Poppy Ridge Golf Course on March 9.
