Men’s Golf Places 10th in Cal State Monterey Bay Otter Invitational

Seaside, CA: The Academy of Art University men's golf team finished in 10th place at the CSUMB Otter Invitational at Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course.  The Urban Knights carded a three-round total of 949 for the tournament, defeating Head Coach Joy Aud's alma mater, Notre Dame de Namur, by 16 strokes.  Cal State San Bernardino took top honors with a 901, followed by St. Edward's University (TX) with a 907.

 

Freshman Joshua Anderson led the Knights on the individual leaderboard with a 25th place finish.  After shooting a 77 in the third round, Anderson finished 19-over-par 235.  Freshman Stuart Favretto shot an impressive 75 in the first round and tied for 33rd place overall with a 21-over-par 227.  Teammate sophomore Erik Majzner tied for 42nd place with a 23-over-par 239.  Sophomore Matt Garcia, finishing one stroke behind Majzner, tied for 44th place with a 24-over-par 240.  Junior Dave Carney finished in 63rd place with a 38-over-par 254. 

 

The Urban Knights will travel to the Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande to compete in the Division I Cal Poly San Louis Obispo Invitational March 26th and 27th.
