Knights in Eighth After Second Round of Dennis Rose

Dennis Rose Invitational Round 2 Results

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii -- Academy of Art men's golf dropped to eighth after shooting a cumulative 303 in their second round of the Dennis Rose Invitational.

After a strong start shooting 70 (-2) in the opening round, junior Gabriel De Leon Manotoc continued to lead the Urban Knights by shooting a 74 (+2) on the second day. Manotoc's combined score of 144 is tied for eighth heading into the final day. Senior Lawrence Liang followed just one stroke behind with a 75 (+3), bringing his cumulative score to 146 to tie for 18th. Liang's 26 pars are second highest out of the 80 man field.

Rounding out the scorers for ART U were Matthew Watkins, with a score of 76 (+4), and Otto Homruen who finished the day with 78 (+6) strokes.

UH Hilo is the new tournament leader after shooting a combined 287 on day two. Western Washington drops to second and trails the Vulcans by three strokes. Academy of Art sits three strokes behind seventh place Dixie State, and have an 11 stroke advantage over ninth place Hawaii Pacific.

The Urban Knights will conclude the Dennis Rose Invitational on the links of the Waikoloa King's Course Wednesday.
