2019 USTFCCCA NCAA Division Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS --Â With the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships a little under two weeks away, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2019 indoor regular season with a total of 31 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Tuesday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning 11 members of the Urban Knights men's squad and eight women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
second in the West Region andÂ
12th in the country (as of Feb. 20),
Mobolade Ajomale collected four awards (60m, 200m, 400m, 4x400m) for the fourth consecutive year while a trio of selections went toÂ
Victor Moreau (800m, 3000m, 1 Mile) and a pair toÂ
Christian Carter (400m, 4x400m) and
Roshard Williams (200m, 4x400m). Individual All-Region honorees included
Daquan Berry (4x400m),
Joshua Browne (800m),
Daniel Cortes Gonzalez (HJ),
Freddie Hessian (3000m),
Rabah Houali (800m),
Arrun Palacio (TJ), and
Grant Swinton (200m).
Leading the women in total All-Region honors,Â
Ombretta Picciolie Minkue Meye (60m, 200m, 4x400m) received three selections while both
Camille Jouanno (TJ, LJ),
Hasna Kaarour (3000m, 1 Mile), andÂ
Darria Matthias (60m, 200m) had a pair each. Solo honors went to
Mia Avila (4x400m),
Latavia Hawkins (4x400m),
Hannah Hensley (HJ), and
Hava Turner (4x400m).
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas next week on Mar. 8-9.
