Otter Invitational Final Results
SEASIDE, Calif. -- For the third time this spring Academy of Art women's golf is runner-up. The Urban Knights finished the final day of the Otter Invitational Tuesday at the Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course with a cumulative score of 632 only bested by the No. 1 ranked team in the country Dallas Baptist. The second place positioning was led by a runner up finish by sophomore
Anahi Servin who has now placed second in back to back tournaments.
"The team really dug it out this week," said head coach
Mitch Lowe. "Very proud of how hard they battled. Finishing second to the No. 1 team in the country, it's not the worst thing."
On a tough course, Servin improved two strokes on her day one performance, shooting the second best round in the field with a 76 (+4) to end with a 154 (+10) cumulative score and collect her second runner up finish of the spring. Her previous second place finish came at the
Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout on March 5. Junior
Elan Hawkins was in first place going into the second day and though she fell a few spots, still managed an eighth place finish with a cumulative 158 (+14). Sophomore
Iveta Posledni tied with Hawkins in eighth with a round two score of 80 (+8). Redshirt junior
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo improved an impressive four strokes to capture a 12th place finish, her highest this spring.
"We were tied with about six holes left in the tournament but couldn't quite pull it off, but it shows how close this team is to being one of the top in the country. The team is close to putting it all together."
After another top finish, ART U will compete in the Mustang Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz. starting April 5th. For Academy of Art women's golf full schedule
